description

Treat weeds and feed your lawn with Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Weed & Feed3 in the fall for a better lawn next spring. This weed killer plus lawn fertilizer controls over 50 listed lawn weeds, including clover, dandelion, plantain, morningglory, chicory, eveningprimrose, and purslane. In addition, it delivers the nutrients needed to help recover from damage from the summertime and build strong roots to take on harsh winter conditions. Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Weed & Feed3 on a calm day when weeds are actively growing and temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 90°F. Make sure your grass is moist from dew or sprinkling, as this helps particles adhere to weed leaves to produce the best results. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 3 1/2. For Scotts® drop spreaders, use a setting of 6. Do not water your lawn for 24 hours after application. This lawn care product is for use on Bahiagrass, Bermudagrass, Bluegrass, Centipedegrass, Fescue, Ryegrass, and Zoysiagrass. Do not apply to St. Augustinegrass (including Floratam), Dichondra, Lippia, Carpetgrass, or Bentgrass. One 11.43 lb. bag covers 4,000 sq. ft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product helps your lawn through the Winter I just applied this product to our lawn this past Thursday. All you need to do is pour it into your spreader, set the correct setting and go over your lawn. I've been using this product for over 5+ year's now. It will help your lawn get through the Winter and come Spring it will help your lawn revive itself. I also took some by hand and went over the troublesome weed's. WARNING: If you apply too much, you could have bare spots and/or burned area's in your lawn. Go sparingly!!! Best of luck to everyone for a happy and healthy lawn!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from feed your lawn - FEED-IT For years I had a service feed my lawn. The last two years I just followed the Scotts 4 step weed and feed and it now looks better then when the pros did it. It also saves me about $300.00 a year. Not bragging ( ok I am - because I can ) I have the nicest lawn in the neighborhood

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turf Builder Winterguardwith Plus 2 Weed Control I have used this product for 2 consecutive season and love the results. It took the 2nd year for me to really see the results. After the first year there were still a lot of dandelions, but after the second season of using this product I saw very few. I have put this product on my yard again for a beautiful lawn next spring. I highly recommend this product, but just be aware that it may take more than one season to really see the results. Thank you, Scotts!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! For the past 2 1'/2 yrs my son has been following Scotts recommendations when to put out WinterGuard and the others Turf builders. He does his yard then travels about 15 mi to my house and uses the rest of the bag on my yard. Boy can I see a difference in my small yard. Not only do I have less weeds but it's thicker and greener too. I'm not only grateful for this son but also grateful to Scotts, too. I can see the difference. Thanks scotts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was very easy to apply I watered the lawn like the directions say to do and then spread the ferilizer with a rotory spreader, the product stuck to the grass and leaves very nicely it did not create the mess I thought I would have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorable results with use of Scott's products. Our lawn finally looks great and lush after several seasons of variations in texture and growth. The weed control finally worked in getting rid of the dandelions and other weeds. Some brown spots still exist which need to be worked for total yard quality and I will try Scott's grass seed products to achieve the top lawn in the cul de sac.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from green and thick Expensive, but well worth it. Timing means a lot. We had rain, put down the next morning-clear for 2 days, so weed control could work. Then had a day or two of rain. It's nice when mother nature cooperates. The grass is thick and green. Weeds are on the way out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye to Weeds I first used this product in 2011. My lawn's non-grass greenery died, I overseeded weeks later and then enjoyed a healthier lawn in the spring. I have used this product again this week for the 2012 application. It works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great results in the Spring I typically just put down winterizer without Plus 2 and I end up having weeds pop up right away in the Spring. I have used WinterGuard® With Plus 2® Weed Control the last two Fall Seasons and no weeds popped up in the Spring like they did without using this product. I am very impressed how the product works and will continue to spend the little extra so I don't have to deal with weeds in the early Spring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never again use anything but Scotts! Disappointed does not even come close to how I felt. After using another brand on my lawn in the fall, the spring brought the weeds and dandelions standing tall and waving their defiant leaves at me in full glory! Living in the country my neighbors do little week control, so I am left to accept their fallout of weeds and seeds. Scotts Winterguard with weed control is only one of Scotts products I use for my defense without offending my neighbors. Great job Scotts! You saved my lawn and my relationship with my neighbors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Putting green after three uses. My sister's yard was *maybe* 50% grass -- with 40% weeds and 10% bare. I've put Winterguard down for her just after Halloween the past three years, and she cannot believe it's the same yard! Each spring she sees more and more grass as the Winterguard encourages more and more root growth from the *good* grass, thus strangling out the nasties and filling in the bare spots. Winterguard rules!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This really made a difference! First time I used WinterGuard. What a beautiful lush lawn I have this spring. The grass is so healthy looking and filled in where there were weeds and bare spots. I am sold on using this every year. The benefits outweigh any up front cost. Well worth the money for a beautiful green, healthy lawn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is what keeps lawns strong Several of my neighbors hire professional landscapers to care and maintain their lawns. I don't, however, my lawn emerges earlier and is greener than theirs. This is because of the winterguard that I apply before the first frost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beyond expected results Two years ago in the fall was the first time I had used this or any lawn car product. The application was quick and easy and by spring I had half the number of dandelions from the previous year. The next fall I applied another application and with a little hand picking, next spring I had only a few dandelions left. I could only emagine what my lawn would look like is I used a spring and summer product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with fall product pays off the next spring. Been putting down 3 Costco sized bags of turf builder on 2 acres in early October for years . Skipped a couple times on and off. Works good. I don’t put full strength. I had no dandelions and grass is greener and thicker than others in the area. I put it down early morning pulling a spreader behind a mower with dew on the grass. Yes the product clumps in the bag. (What’s up with that Scott’s). The grass grows normally. I’ve used the spring stuff and had to mow twice a week at one point. Never again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfied but clumpy I have been using Scott’s products for 20 years and always have pretty good luck. Something seems to have changed however as I get far more clumping in the bags. I just got done fertilizing a very large lawn and used 3 bags, two of them had significant clumping which I had to break-up with a hand trowel. A little inconvenient and definitely a quality issue. I also have a suggestion. With the weed and feed products, I wish the Scott’s spreaders had solid wheels that don’t have openings on the interior of the spreader. When applying on a damp lawn, they product gathers and clumps in the wheels then falls into the lawn in clumps creating burned areas. While small, it is frustrating and would be solved with a solid wheel.
