How to Use

LAWNS

1. Determine the square footage of the lawn to be treated. Measure the length and width in feet, then multiply to determine your coverage area in square feet. Divide your coverage area by 4,000 sq. ft. to determine the number of bags needed for your lawn.

2. Use the spreader settings chart on the bag to determine the appropriate setting.

3. Apply evenly over dry grass avoiding streaks, skips and overlaps. Complete coverage of the lawn is important.

LANDSCAPES

  • Trees: When transplanting, mix 1/2 lb. of EcoScraps® Starter + Slow-Release Fertilizer per foot of the height of the tree with the soil used to fill the space between the root ball and the side of the excavations. For established trees, use 5 lbs. for every inch of tree trunk. Dig holes that are 1-inch wide and 12-inches deep every two feet along the drip line. Fill those holes with the predetermined amount of EcoScraps® Starter + Slow-Release Fertilizer. You can also spread the needed amount of EcoScraps® Starter + Slow-Release Fertilizer in a circular band along the drip line.
  • Shrubs: When transplanting, mix 1/2 lb. of EcoScraps® Starter + Slow-Release Fertilizer per foot of the height of the shrub with the soil used to fill the space between the root ball and the side of the excavations. In the spring apply 5 lbs. of fertilizer per every 100 sq. ft. around the base of the shrub and work it into the soil.
  • Annuals: Apply 1 lb. per 50 sq. ft. prior to planting in the spring. In the summer apply that same amount, lightly working it into the soil around the base of the plant.
  • Perennials: Apply 2-1/2 lbs. per 50 sq. ft. prior to planting in the spring. In the summer apply that same amount, lightly working it into the soil around the base of the plant.

Note: 1 lb. = 3 cups of EcoScraps® Starter + Slow-Release Fertilizer.
