Description
Grubs and other listed insects can do extensive damage to lawns by feeding on grass roots. Damaged turf turns brown and is easily pulled up by hand. Prevent turf damage with Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer. A single application of this granular insecticide can kill and prevent grubs for up to 4 months. This grub killer also kills caterpillars (armyworm), chinchbugs, May/June beetles, and more (as listed), and can help control Japanese beetle infestations when applied annually. Apply Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer to a dry lawn in the spring or early summer to kill grubs as they develop. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 3 ½. For Scotts® drop spreaders, use a setting of 5 ½. For Scotts® Wizz®, use a setting of 3 ¾. Water in thoroughly to activate. People and pets may re-enter the lawn after it has dried. The maximum number of applications for this product is one per year. One 14.35 lb. bag of Scotts® GrubEx®1 Season Long Grub Killer covers 5,000 sq. ft.
Step by Step Instructions
How to Use
- Set and fill spreader
- Apply to dry lawn. Water in thoroughly (approximately 1 inch) to activate.
- Clean-up - sweeping product from hard surfaces onto the lawn keeps product on the grass.
- People or pets may re-enter lawn once grass has dried.

Simply put- it works. No grub issues all summer
I applied the insect control in the early spring as directed. I had no issues with lawn insects. As a result I had much fewer voles in the yard. My lawn looks better as a result.

GrubX does exactly as it says on the label.
I have Bermuda Grass and I apply GrubX once in the summer and it controls all bugs throughout the entire season just like it says it will do on the label. Thank You Scotts for a great product!

this product works,I had a grub problem at one time but after reviewing this product I gave it try and sure enough it does work,I apply it it yearly to keep a healthy lawn and grub free,it has been working for the past 7 years always find it on sale can't beat the price for what it does for your lawn,I am a satisfied customer with this product.

Saved my lawn
I had an infestation of grubs and my lawn was suffering. Tried a few different products with no success. Tried GrubEx and my problem was solved. I highly recommend this if you have grubs. Don't waste money or time with other products.

It did the job
Have about 25,000 sq ft of lawn with sod webworm and european chafer. GrubEx1 works as advertised - no problems all season long. Worth the investment!

THE GRUBEX1* REALLY WORKS!
I applied GrubEx1 on a third of my yard, I have an acre, and I can tell that it worked because the moles, voles, were not evident in the area applied.

Very good grub treatmet
With a lot of rain in N. Florida and seeing both Lawn Moths and morning damage to my St Augustine Grass, I knew I needed a surface and deep treatment product. The GrubEx1 really did the job. One application in early August has taken care of pretty much everything, although I have to consider that the heavy rains might have washed some of the product out. The price was great and it is a very good alternative to other products. Scotts quality is always top notch and it will work as advertised. Look for it at Home Depot or Lowes for the best price.

Grub Ex worked like a charm. It was applied using a Rotary Spreader in late summer. There were no signs of larvae mounds the following Spring.
Grub Ex was applied to my large yard (approximately 15,000 sq.ft. It was my first time using Grub Ex. We had just purchased the house in July 2013 aand prior to settlement a large number of mounds were noticeable in the front yard. This was a result of Japanese Beetles larvae hatching and burrowing through the grass. Rose bushes, ornamental cherry trees and red maple trees seem to attract the beetles. Being a novice, I purchased and applied Grub Ex in the late summer 2013. This Spring 2014, I didn't have any burrows in the lawn but did have Japanese Beetles in the ornamental cherry trees, red maple tree, and on the rose bushes. Beetle bags didn't put a dent in the problem. I purchased Neem Oil and mixed it with water. I applied it to the problem plants and the Beetles have not returned. If Scott's could make a Neem Oil product I would definitely buy it. A very satisfied Scott's customer.

Effective
I've used this product each year and it has always been very effective. My neighbor used another product and had skunks devastated his lawn to get at the grubs. My lawn was unaffected.

putting grubex down to late
I have been using grubex for 15 years ,This was the first year i haven't used grubex.now my yard is filled with grubs. So I called Scotts and they told me i was to late, I put down grubex in september and it didn't work . I should of put it down in the spring I'll never make that mistake again

The Grub Killer
I use Grubex every spring. Our neighbor's yard are all dug up in the fall by Skunks. They are hungry for the grubs; they'll damage an entire yard. My yard is lush and green, thanks to Scott's lawn care products!

Effective
I firmly believe this product is effective given my past experience when I skipped the seasonal application; it resulted in grubs re-populating the lawn and having many bear spots.
To be certain that the near bear areas were caused by grubs: I lifted the dying lawn finding a grub every 3 to 5 inches apart.

Grub-ex is the best
I only buy Grub-ex by Scotts to control the grubs in my lawn. I've tried other off-brand products but Scott's Grub-ex is the only one that works in a thorough and consistent manner. Provides excellent control and is easy to use.

This product was so easy to apply and did wonders for my lawn
I bought this item at Home Depot garden center and used my broad cast spreader in no time at all I covered my 80x160 yard. And have't seen a grub or mole tracks in my lawn. I can only say that this will be my item of choice for treating grubs yearly.

This is the best product for eliminating grubs from your lawn. I moved into my current home 8 year ago. At that time I had grubs that killed the grass and moles all over. Their tunnels were very noticeable and the lawn was a disaster.
For the first 2 years I tried everything on the market, including trapping these darn moles with no success . On a trip to a local hardware store I purchased (3) bags of Scotts GrubEx . After applying, everything changed with my lawn. No longer did I have grubs and moles but my lawn was revived and looked like a show case lawn. People commented on my "new" picture perfect lawn. For the past 5 years, my lawn has been mole and grub free great lawn

Read the bag!
This is a fantastic product! One has to read and follow the instructions on the bag for it to work properly.... I guarantee that those who did not find the product any good did not follow the instructions thoroughly. Remember, "The customer is always right, if he reads the manual first!" The only thing I have to say though is the product works best on grubs if you apply it in late spring/early summer depending on where you live. I live in Northern Ohio and always use it between may 15 and June 15. I dont apply it every year because it seems to do the job very adequately over a cycle of two years, but I always apply on the third season. I lost several lawns using many other products and this is the only one that works for me.

GrubEx keeps Japanese Beetles in check
We apply GrubEx once a year in early Spring in Ohio to prevent Japanese Beetle larvae from hatching. It has been very effective in controlling these pests.
