Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed I applied the grub treatment in early May. I have noticed severe patches of dead grass. I originally assumed it was from lack of rain. I began watering religiously. The yard started to look really good with the exception of the same patchy dead spots. I decided to dig and found live grubs. Very frustrating!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GrubEX Bought this product today to treat grub worms in my yard. Had I realized that I needed 1 inch of water after applying to my lawn, I would have NEVER purchased the product. Disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really disappointed on how muvh water is needed. Bought this product today to treat grub worms in my yard. Had I realized that I needed 1 inch of water after applying to my lawn, I would have NEVER purchased the product. Does Scott's realize how much 1 inch of water is? Scott's, you really need to work on this..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product did not sink into the ground after rain We used to have one of the best lawns on the street but now it is so sick and the grass is gone due to disgusting grubs. I am heatbroken. After applying Grubex as directed on a day when we expected it to rain, ( it actually rained 4 inches), the granules are still sitting on top of the ground! Very disappointed in this product and we paid plenty to buy it trusting Scotts reputation. Not this time. The grubs can't be eliminated if the product can't get to them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not effect the grubs I put the product down as directed. I paid considerably more because I have trusted Scotts products in the past for all my lawn care. I was, to say the least, highly disappointed. After putting it down I ran the irrigation system for 10 mins per zone and then we received a light shower overnight. After a week I still had grubs. I then purchased a bag a of Spectricide (less than half the cost) and the next day my yard was full of dead above the ground grubs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What happened? Years ago when I had moles i could but this product down and then moles were gone. Two weeks ago I bought and put down with no luck. I have more tunnels now than when I started this. Very disappointed

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this product from the local Home Depot and applied it the first week of June 2022 just before a nice soaking rain. It was a big waste of time and money. My yard is torn up by skunks digging for the gribs

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work at all (I tried multiple times) This product simply does not prevent grubs. I've tried two years in a row and applied exactly as directed. Each July I have lawn damage and the cause is obvious. White grubs everywhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor cust support not the agent but info available When calling in to see the cut off for what they consider “early summer, for use of grub ex I was referred to my local garden center. For ratio for use by square footage I was asked how I will be spreading it and I answered manually since just for a small garden. I was referred to using a spreader. Garden is about 2‘ x 8‘ lol. All that took 11 minutes mostly on hold. Still no answers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a fan I applied as directed, however I still had problems with moles in my yard. Apparently it did not kill the worms grubs or bugs in the yard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working I still have moles after application of grubex. Moles are laughing at this stuff.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money Applied product as directed two weeks ago. Thoroughly watered as directed. Just lifted turf,, no less than 8 grubs per square foot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big Joke I bought 5 bags of this stuff and put it on even extra and made sure it was watered like directed. I now have more tunnels than I had before, not sure but must have fed the grubs instead of killing them. This was the biggest waste of time and money for something that was guaranteed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from weed grower I bought GrubEx and put it on my lawn a month ago which my lawn was green at trhe time to kill the grubs and ended up with nothing but weeds all over my lawn.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Silent Spring except for road noise So unhappy..... if I had known that I would no longer hear brirds chirping, I would have not let my spouse apply this. It kills caterpillars and insects. For years I have planted native plants and added bird feeders to attract bluebirds and juncos and cardinals and finches and sparrows. After my spouse applied this, they all left. The feedrs remain full...it was probably Just supplement to their diet. And the lawn? Doesn’t look a bit better. I am miserable. My spouse is unhappy, too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from minescule amount active ingredients According the manufacturer 0.08% Chlorantraniliprole is the only active ingredient in this product. The rest is all filler. I cannot believe that it works!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn’t work for us We ordered our 5 product Lawn Care Plan directly from Scott’s. We applied our GrubEx as directed in early spring and today I have active grubs. super disappointing. I am trying another product to get these under control and get our lawn back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work My lawn had grubs last summer. I used Grubex, and it seemed to work. re-seed and yard looked great. Re-applied Grubex May 1st. Have Grubs again. Need to redo a big section

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn’t touch my grubs Following the direction on the package to treat the area, weeks later I still have grubs. Maybe this product is not designed to kill Utah grubs? I spent a bit more as I trust Scott products, but this one is not the one for me. Now I am replacing 50 square feet of turf. Pulling the existing turf by hand only to find grubs thriving in the treated areas. Extremely disappointed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I applied the GrubEx1 product as directed by my Scotts Lawn Care Plan in May, 2017. By Fall, I noticed significant lawn damage from grubs as well as damage from the animals digging through the turf to eat them. Scotts offered a refund as long as I had a receipt but that had long been discarded. I will be searching for an alternate treatment this season.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product does not work as advertised. This product is way overrated. Years ago it worked as advertised but now this stuff is worthless. Grub worms destroying my lawn as well as attracting moles. Have applied twice so far as directed and not the first dead grub. In years past there would be dead grubs laying everywhere (you could literally rake them up). This product is overpriced and worthless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont bother 2 use! I have applied THREE TIMES since early summer! I thought i had new grass growing, thanks to ANOTHER BRAND of seeding, but since the grubex didnt do the job, all my new grass has been chewed up for lunch by more grubs than I have EVER HAD BEFORE in 14 years i have lived in my home! REFUND!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work I had grubs last year and I have used a different product a few year ago. I redid the bad spots and seeded in the fall and the lawn looked great this year until August. In August I noticed brown spots and again found grubs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grubs infested my yard after application I put down several applications of grubex this year because I noticed I had more grubs than in the past. I followed the instructions for application. GrubEx unfortunately did nothing to kill them off. My lawn is infested with grubs and moles. Even though it is October, my lawn looks terrible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grubex At a considerable cost for the past three years I have used over 200.00 each year for Grubex. Each year I have grubs. I have a half-acre and the treatment is more than adequate and it simply doesn't work. I simply raked the areas were the dead grass spots are and each time I find grubs have eaten the roots away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from did not work i have been using Scotts® GrubEx®1 for Two years, i followed the application instruction but this year application was totally useless, Grub damaged huge area of my lawn this year, extremely frustrated and disappointed, i trusted Scotts GrubEx1 but now my beautiful lawn is damaged.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used twice and the grubs and japanese beetles are still around I had a new lawn laid last spring (May 2011) and noticed japanese beetles on my grape vines (July through Aug. 2011) plus dead patches on my new grass. I put GrubEx1 on my lawn in Aug. to no avail. Again I put GrubEx1 down last May (end of May 2012) and watered it in. This spring I got rid of the grape vines because the beetles destroyed them last year. For a week now I have noticed beetles flying around my yard and my back yard (new grass last spring) is a disaster... many dead spots. For some reason the beetles have been landing on my two umbrella's on my deck, where I have drowned at least a couple hundred in a bucket of soapy water. The thatch in the grass has become thick because of the grubs eating the grass roots. I'm going to the store today but this time I'm going to try something else.
