Precautions
- Don't use on newly seeded grass lawns until after the fourth mowing. On newly sprigged areas, wait five months before application.
- Don't plant grass seed for four growing months or sprig an area for five months after use of this product.
- Don't apply more frequently than twice a year. Allow at least a two month interval between applications.
- Don't rake or aerify after application, as the Halts(R) chemical barrier in the soil will be disturbed.
Disposal Methods
- Nonrefillable container. If empty: Do not reuse or refill this container. Place in trash or offer for recycling if available.
- If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

DESCRIPTION
Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer prevents the germination of listed lawn weeds so you can enjoy your lawn. In early spring, apply when lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass* and oxalis all season long (*for goosegrass control, repeat application in 8 weeks). Apply in the fall (August-October) to prevent moss (except in California), or to prevent the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed. Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is for use on all lawns and grass types (with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass lawns). Rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect the performance of this product. Please note, this product controls crabgrass in its early stages of growth. It does not control mature crabgrass and other existing weeds. One 10.06 lb. bag of Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer covers 5,000 sq. ft.

So far so good.
I have had a large problem with crabgrass the last few years since the road was repaired and they put hay out on the side of the road. This season I put out the preventer and have not had any show so far. Very happy with the lack of crabgrass.

See ya later crab grass!
Living in a community that was recently developed, our grass is a mere 4 years old. The rolls of sod were placed on top of compacted clay, and existing patches of weeds including crab grass. This problem has been especially prevalent in our front yard. After spreading this, I noticed within 5 days, the crabgrass thinned out, allowing the Bermuda to fill in and take its place.

A true weed preventer
This is better than any weed preventer I’ve ever tried before. This goes on evenly and spreads nicely across my grass, and I don’t need to worry about hitting any spots of fresh grass. Somehow, the way this product is made it won’t kill good grass. It only kills and seems to prevent weeds from coming through.

Crabgrass Preventer
This is very effective for preventing crabgrass from growing. The key is applying early on in the spring before the crabgrass begins to emerge. I think Scotts makes an excellent fertilizer and have been very happy with my results over the years.

Great product
Very simple to apply to the lawn and worked well. Highly recommend this product. After a week, I noticed that there was less crabgrass. The product was a litle dust while applying but I would recommend wearing a face mask.

I received the Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Prevention. Great product to use on your lawn to help get rid of and prevent crabgrass and grassy weeds. Easy to use, just put in your spreader and go.
