Precautions
- Don't use on newly seeded grass lawns until after the fourth mowing. On newly sprigged areas, wait five months before application.
- Don't plant grass seed for four growing months or sprig an area for five months after use of this product.
- Don't apply more frequently than twice a year. Allow at least a two month interval between applications.
- Don't rake or aerify after application, as the Halts(R) chemical barrier in the soil will be disturbed.
Disposal Methods
Nonrefillable container. If empty: Do not reuse or refill this container. Place in trash or offer for recycling if available. If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

Description
Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer prevents the germination of listed lawn weeds so you can enjoy your lawn. In early spring, apply when lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass* and oxalis all season long (*for goosegrass control, repeat application in 8 weeks). Apply in the fall (August-October) to prevent moss (except in California), or to prevent the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed. Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is for use on all lawns and grass types (with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass lawns). Rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect the performance of this product. Please note, this product controls crabgrass in its early stages of growth. It does not control mature crabgrass and other existing weeds. One 10.06 lb. bag of Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer covers 5,000 sq. ft.

This is certainly a product we need!
Due to weather, illness, etc, we have not yet used this product. BUT with SPRING near, we will soon put this product to good use. With the results we have had with your other fine products, I know we will have great results. I will be glad to review this after we apply it. Thanks

Works as expected
I applied this product at the beginning of Fall and so far it appears to work as expected. Of course, it is too early to be sure of the results, because being a "weed preventer", I would expect that the full results will be confirmed at the end of Fall/Winter, not a few weeks after application. Nevertheless, the interim results appear to be very promising, and I will update my review after a few months

New seedling crabgrass , not on Halt's watch
After treating crabgrass stands from the summer with Celcius ,I applied halt to all but one patch. Within ten days seedlings were emerging in the untreated areas and not in the halt treated areas. I am looking foreward to reapplying in the spring to remain free of that pesky weed. We have had our first frost and it severely damaged the young seedlings, almost eliminated them so I will not be able to fairly review the duration of protection but 2 months at least I can attest to,and in and of itself that alone is awesome!

Great weed and moss preventer
Our small backyard had moss growing between the detached garage and fence. In the Fall, we tried Scotts Halt Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer. It was easy to apply using our Scotts spreader. Our fall weather is very unpredictable but we found that weather and the elements did not affect the product performance. After only one application the moss was gone and the new shade tolerant grass we planted began to grow. While Fall is the best time to treat for moss and chickwood, we plan to use the product in the Spring to prevent crabgrass.

It Works
Followed the simple directions on the bag and placed product in my Scott's drop spreader. It did not take long to walk with hilly lawn. Within weeks and wetting the product down once applied it Killed our Crab Grass and other weeds.

Waste the Crab
I used my Scotts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer about a week ago. I will not know how well it worked until the spring when the grass and weeds begin to grow. I have used other Scott products in the past for weed control and found them to do the job very well.

This product is a great pre emergent for my lawn
I specifically like this product as a pre emergent for my lawn to put down in the fall and early spring. It really seems to drastically reduce the amount of crab grass and other weeds as we head into the warmer weather of late spring and summer when crab grass and weeds would normally begin actively growing.

Worked as advertised
I have a front yard of centipede grass, while the back is mostly Bermuda. However, I did have quite a few areas where crabgrass was trying to invade. I decided to give this product a try. After a few weeks, I was pleasantly surprised. The crabgrass and any other weeds were dying. Also, I noticed an area of moss in the back yard had died. Nearing the end of the summer growing season, my yard never looked better.

Works fairly quickly
It took a few days to notice. But did take the weeds out of the areas I applied it. I have multiple types of grass, but it's all still there. No crabgrass apparently. Seems to work great!

This product is easy to spread and cover a large area
This product will cover a large area and without the worry of killing your grass. Best of all it will prevent crabgrass and weeds from coming back next year. One application and your done until next year.

Easy to apply, great results I hope!
I cut open the bag and poured it into my spreader. A quick walk around the area the crabgrass is prevalent and viola i was done. That was a few weeks ago, the growing season is over, but i am hoping that no new crabgrass appears this spring.

Works as Advertised
We are having a very mild Fall this year. Due to that, the grasses and weeds are still flourishing. I applied this Scott's Halts as recommended and got good results. I have noticed a reduction in the number of new weeds sprouting and the weeds that were up are wilting. I have plans to purchase this product in the Spring and apply again, to hopefully control the weed growth. I tend to use Scott's products, even though they are a bit more expensive. I always get the results I am expecting when I use the products.

Works exactly as promised.
I have used Halts for many years to control crabgrass. It has always worked exactly as promised by Scotts. I have a zoysia lawn and any weed will be very obvious. I apply twice a year, Spring and Fall, and Halts keeps my lawn weed free and beautiful.

No Weeds
I applied Scott's Halts Crabgrass & Weed Preventer about a month ago and I have not noticed a weed problem. I have had a weed that appears in late fall and winter and can never seem to rid myself of it. So far no weed problems however I noticed that my neighbors are still having problems. I'm pleased with this product and will suggest it to others.

No crabgrass no crabby lawn owner
Why do weeds think they belong in my yard? That darn crabgrass spreads. This product does prevent the seeds from germinating.
