Precautions
- Don't use on newly seeded grass lawns until after the fourth mowing. On newly sprigged areas, wait five months before application.
- Don't plant grass seed for four growing months or sprig an area for five months after use of this product.
- Don't apply more frequently than twice a year. Allow at least a two month interval between applications.
- Don't rake or aerify after application, as the Halts(R) chemical barrier in the soil will be disturbed.
Disposal Methods
Nonrefillable container. If empty: Do not reuse or refill this container. Place in trash or offer for recycling if available. If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

Description
Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer prevents the germination of listed lawn weeds so you can enjoy your lawn. In early spring, apply when lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass* and oxalis all season long (*for goosegrass control, repeat application in 8 weeks). Apply in the fall (August-October) to prevent moss (except in California), or to prevent the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed. Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is for use on all lawns and grass types (with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass lawns). Rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect the performance of this product. Please note, this product controls crabgrass in its early stages of growth. It does not control mature crabgrass and other existing weeds. One 10.06 lb. bag of Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer covers 5,000 sq. ft.

Crabgrass and weed preventer
Scott’s crabgrass and grassy weed preventer has worked wonder on my lawn. Recommended to apply in spring and that’s what we done and it has done a wonderful job. Easy to use you don’t have to be an expert. Has my lawn looking nice.

Trusting the Process, and Pleased
This is the first time I have used Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer in our lawn maintenance program. We have always seen great results using other Scotts products, so we thought we would give this a try. Our front lawn tends to see more weed action early in the year, even with a pre-emergent treatment late fall and early spring. We applied the Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer a couple weeks ago, and are already seeing great results less pop ups. It is still early in the growth year, but happy with the results so far.

Works with follow up!
Works but... i have used the halts product for a number of years and while it took work happy to say i have no crabgrass. The key to success is ensuring bare spots are filled in not allowing crabgrass to return.

Timing matters, but this works great
This works great to stop crabgrass and prevent it from coming out this year. So far it looks to work great. Timing does matter as this has to be placed before crabgrass emerges. This is easy to use and spread out. The color makes it easy to see where you put this down already. I look forward to using this year after year to keep my grass protected.

We have a real bad Crabgrass issue in our front and back yard. I literally dispose it but now my husband and I swear by this preventer. It really does halt the growth but some still grow. It’s easy to spread in yard.

Good Product
We've had issues with crabgrass in the past, so this was a good product to try out. Was easy to spread, no issues at all with application. Used in addition to our already purchased seed & fertilizer. Everything looks good so far, and we're looking forward to a healthy lawn moving into summertime.

Working well so far.
I spread the this on my lawn in the late evening to give it a chance to work its way in with the morning dew a few weeks ago. It appears that it is working well as the amount of crabgrass and weeds are less than what I first experienced this season.

Stop in the name of crabgrass
Applying the product with a spreader is easy. It has been a few weeks since I applied the product and I have seen less crabgrass but the dandelions are still there. I would use a different preventer that calls out dandelion for use, if that is the main weed/unwanted plant that you want to suppress for the season.

Effective
Living in the south, with clay soil I tend to grow everything but grass. Literally. I know I can always count on Scotts products to help.
This turf builder halts crabgrass is easy to spread and you get a good amount. Works very quickly at controlling crabgrass and helped to start some healthy regrowth.

This is the first time I have used the Scott’s Crabgrass and grassy weed preventer. I live in Northern Indiana and applied this product mainly for crabgrass prevention. It seems to be doing the trick.

Giving it a try
We applied this crabgrass preventer 4 weeks ago to try and help with the crabgrass in our yard and my neighbors yard but we haven’t seen much changed. I’m hoping with continued applications and consistency it will make a difference. Easy to apply and minimal smell

The Scotts Halts Crabgrass @ Grassy Weed Preventer so far has done ok with the current weeds present. I still see some in the yard in spots so hopefully once I spray them with some weed killer they will not longer be there!

Helps with weeds but I still see some crabgrass. I didn’t think this was shipped early enough since this is more of a preventative (pre-emergent), so we will have to see how it looks once it has a little more time to work.

Just laid this down, will expect results soon. Like all Scotts products I've tried I'm sure it will do just fine. Crabgrass preventer and feed has always worked for me, takes time but has always done the job.

Good but not organic
Really great for the yard we replanted. Do wish this was more organic for kids and pets but overall happy with how my lawn looks so far this spring!

If you have Kentucky Bluegrass this product is not the best for that species. Otherwise it certainly works well on unwanted grasses.

Effective results
As a preventative product, I have been very pleased with its performance. However, this year, I plan to reapply again once the growing season (St Augustine grass) gets going. I noticed las year that towards the end of the summer crabgrass started to appear.

Liquid Crabgrass control
I have been using Scots Crabgrass control for years, this is the first time I changed and used the liquid style. Much easier and Quicker. Results were great my late summer early fall lawn is clear of any crabgrass( except for 2 spots I missed Oops) Definitely will use from now on

Decent spread for specific weeds
I still had a lot of weeds after using this but it is geared mainly toward a few specific weeds and I don't see any of those in my yard so it appears to have done it's job as far as I can tell. I think, overall though, I'd prefer something like Weed & Feed unless I was having an issue with just one of these weeds.

This product worked quite well!
This product was very easy to apply with the spreader. There was no dust flying when applying either. I gave it plenty of time to work and it has. Unfortunately the cold weather set in and now I cannot see how well it completely worked.
