Precautions
- Don't use on newly seeded grass lawns until after the fourth mowing. On newly sprigged areas, wait five months before application.
- Don't plant grass seed for four growing months or sprig an area for five months after use of this product.
- Don't apply more frequently than twice a year. Allow at least a two month interval between applications.
- Don't rake or aerify after application, as the Halts(R) chemical barrier in the soil will be disturbed.
Disposal Methods
Nonrefillable container. If empty: Do not reuse or refill this container. Place in trash or offer for recycling if available. If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

Description
Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer prevents the germination of listed lawn weeds so you can enjoy your lawn. In early spring, apply when lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass* and oxalis all season long (*for goosegrass control, repeat application in 8 weeks). Apply in the fall (August-October) to prevent moss (except in California), or to prevent the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed. Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is for use on all lawns and grass types (with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass lawns). Rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect the performance of this product. Please note, this product controls crabgrass in its early stages of growth. It does not control mature crabgrass and other existing weeds. One 10.06 lb. bag of Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer covers 5,000 sq. ft.

Using for 30 Years Like Clock Work
I HATE crabgrass! I'm an avid gardener that has used Scotts Halts Crabgrass killer every spring, for the past 30 years! I kid you not! I've done it every since my former husband reseeded my lawn - due to crabgrass and weed infestation. I am the only person in my cul-de-sac that does not have crab grass. I swear by this stuff!

The Best Yet
Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer is the best I have used so far. It's easy to apply and results are usually seen with 7-10 days. I highly recommend to anyone searching for a quality as well as easy to use product.

absolutely no crabgrass
I have over 3000 sq. ft. of kentucky bluegrass and as long as I have been using thjs product I have not seen one blade of crabgrass! I will say do not wast your money on Halt's with fertilizer .. crabgrass prevention is woefully inadequate! You will also discover their are very little vendors for Halt's.. spend money for shipping

Good stuff,really works
Got this last year but just got to use it last week. Easy to use and went down as advertized. No weeds and so far no crabgrass which has been a problem for me. I think this product will do the job mainly because almost all Scotts products work as advertised.

The best crab grass killer!
My lawn was taken over by crab grass. I thought I lost my yard and was going to have to resod. I used this product on my grass and saw better results in under a week. This product did wonders for my yard!!

No more crabgrass...
I use to have an area that did have some unwanted types of grass and then I put down Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer and it appears to have solved my grassy weed problem. There is no crabgrass growing in the area and the good grasses are growing beautifully. I will use this product next fall and next spring to try and make my whole lawn look good.

Crabgrass free
I have used Scott's Halts Crabgrass Preventer many times and can definitely see a difference in the seasons I've used it and those I have not. The best practice is just to prevent and then you don't have the irritating task of treating to rid afterwards.

Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer
I have used Turf Builder with Halts before and it worked so I thought I would try this one and see how well it does. It works fabulously. I could not be more happier with this. It stops the new weeds in it's tracks. Just make sure you apply according to the directions as too much is wasting the product. I highly recommend using this for your lawn. Oh, and don't make the same mistake I have done in the past. Never use on newly seeded lawns as this will kill the new lawn before it even gets going.

This is certainly a product we need!
Due to weather, illness, etc, we have not yet used this product. BUT with SPRING near, we will soon put this product to good use. With the results we have had with your other fine products, I know we will have great results. I will be glad to review this after we apply it. Thanks

Works as expected
I applied this product at the beginning of Fall and so far it appears to work as expected. Of course, it is too early to be sure of the results, because being a "weed preventer", I would expect that the full results will be confirmed at the end of Fall/Winter, not a few weeks after application. Nevertheless, the interim results appear to be very promising, and I will update my review after a few months

New seedling crabgrass , not on Halt's watch
After treating crabgrass stands from the summer with Celcius ,I applied halt to all but one patch. Within ten days seedlings were emerging in the untreated areas and not in the halt treated areas. I am looking foreward to reapplying in the spring to remain free of that pesky weed. We have had our first frost and it severely damaged the young seedlings, almost eliminated them so I will not be able to fairly review the duration of protection but 2 months at least I can attest to,and in and of itself that alone is awesome!

Great weed and moss preventer
Our small backyard had moss growing between the detached garage and fence. In the Fall, we tried Scotts Halt Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer. It was easy to apply using our Scotts spreader. Our fall weather is very unpredictable but we found that weather and the elements did not affect the product performance. After only one application the moss was gone and the new shade tolerant grass we planted began to grow. While Fall is the best time to treat for moss and chickwood, we plan to use the product in the Spring to prevent crabgrass.

It Works
Followed the simple directions on the bag and placed product in my Scott's drop spreader. It did not take long to walk with hilly lawn. Within weeks and wetting the product down once applied it Killed our Crab Grass and other weeds.

Waste the Crab
I used my Scotts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer about a week ago. I will not know how well it worked until the spring when the grass and weeds begin to grow. I have used other Scott products in the past for weed control and found them to do the job very well.

This product is a great pre emergent for my lawn
I specifically like this product as a pre emergent for my lawn to put down in the fall and early spring. It really seems to drastically reduce the amount of crab grass and other weeds as we head into the warmer weather of late spring and summer when crab grass and weeds would normally begin actively growing.

Worked as advertised
I have a front yard of centipede grass, while the back is mostly Bermuda. However, I did have quite a few areas where crabgrass was trying to invade. I decided to give this product a try. After a few weeks, I was pleasantly surprised. The crabgrass and any other weeds were dying. Also, I noticed an area of moss in the back yard had died. Nearing the end of the summer growing season, my yard never looked better.
