Precautions
- Don't use on newly seeded grass lawns until after the fourth mowing. On newly sprigged areas, wait five months before application.
- Don't plant grass seed for four growing months or sprig an area for five months after use of this product.
- Don't apply more frequently than twice a year. Allow at least a two month interval between applications.
- Don't rake or aerify after application, as the Halts(R) chemical barrier in the soil will be disturbed.

Nonrefillable container. If empty: Do not reuse or refill this container. Place in trash or offer for recycling if available. If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

Description
Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer prevents the germination of listed lawn weeds so you can enjoy your lawn. In early spring, apply when lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass* and oxalis all season long (*for goosegrass control, repeat application in 8 weeks). Apply in the fall (August-October) to prevent moss (except in California), or to prevent the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed. Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is for use on all lawns and grass types (with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass lawns). Rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect the performance of this product. Please note, this product controls crabgrass in its early stages of growth. It does not control mature crabgrass and other existing weeds. One 10.06 lb. bag of Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer covers 5,000 sq. ft.

Good coverage
Covered well over lawn. Used it in an area that always gets heavy crabgrass. Looking forward to seeing how this supplements the fertilizer with Triple Threat fertilizer. I have a little left that I may reapply I a few weeks.

Working great even when applied later than usual.
Great at keeping weeds from popping up in the spring. I applied this a little later than i would have liked, but it is still doing a great job and my lawn is coming back beautifully after the winter.

Apply pre-emergent...and get Crab Grass Out...
Apply it in Spring and crabgrass Is out...atleast for now..will check and update at the end of season. Spreading it was a breeze. Lets see if it there is any crabgrass resurgence later in the season. Read instructions on the bag properly.. timing or watering should be precise.

Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer
Finally was able to apply product has issues getting product spread using the Eltie Spreader as product contained pea sizes of foam which was preventing product from being spread. Had to remove the foam first before being able to spread. Once removed product went down as expected. So gar have not seen any weeds sprouting. One improvement that should be made is making the bag resealable as the bag amount allows for 2 application's which will be applied in the fall. Hopefully by next spring I can say bye bye Crabgrass.

Scotts works!!
Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Weed Preventer is my spring treatment to take care of the weeds in my lawn. . I highly recommend this product. Scotts helps reduce the amount of crabgrass. I've used this product for years and my yard is a beautiful shade of green and mostly weed free. .If you want a crabgrass free awn, then use Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer. Apply with your Scotts spreader. Dial the right number and water your lawn thoroughly. As always follow the steps on the back of the back and your lawn will be crabgrass free!

Early Application is a Must
Crabgrass Preventer is a solid dual-action product that feeds your lawn while stopping crabgrass before it starts. I applied it early in the season as directed, and so far, I’ve seen virtually no crabgrass emerging. The lawn looks greener and healthier overall, and the granules were easy to apply with a broadcast spreader. It’s convenient to have weed prevention and fertilization in one step, and it didn’t harm my established grass. Great choice for early spring lawn care.

Crabgrass prevention
The crabgrass weed preventer has been effective with no crabgrass evident in the area where I applied it. The area next to where I applied the crabgrass preventer has several plugs of crabgrass established. I would recommend using this product if you want to minimize any crabgrass in your lawn.

Crabgrass Be Gone!
Every year when the spring hits, crabgrass just takes over my entire front and side yard. Being in a corner lot, I want my yard to look great and full. That’s where this Scotts Halts Crabgrass comes into play. The moment I put it down, the crabgrass is stopped in it’s tracks.

Great product
This is an effective product that is super easy to use! Simply toss out on the area that you want to prevent and it's a done job. Comes packaged in tact and the product itself isn't too heavy to maneuver. I saw results within the week of spreading the product. I definitely recommend and will repurchase.

Prevents weeds very well
This product gives a full 5 months of weed suppression here in Arizona. I used to struggle with hundreds of Spurge weeds in my lawn but since I’ve been using this weed preventer it’s been decreased to less than 2% of what I was getting. The few weeds that I do get now are usually around the edges of the lawn where the soil is disturbed from digging in with my edger. I’ll continue to use this every spring and just spot spray or pull the few weeds that pop through the barrier.

Weed Preventer

Directions are easy to follow
Very easy to use and the directions are very clear. It is a pre-emergent weed killer. I know so it's more effective when you apply pre spring before the weeds start growing. It is okay to apply during freezing temperature so that you're ready for it to start working when spring. It also kills more weeds than just crabgrass.

Great product
The Halts Crabgrass and Weed Preventer is my spring go-to for taking care of the weeds in my lawn. On one side of my property, the grass is directly connected to my neighbors and the line between his untreated and my treated is unmistakable. I highly recommend this product.

It Does The Job
If you want a crabgrass Free Lawn, then your best bet is to use this Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer. Be sure to set the dial on your spreader on the right number so you're not spreading too little or too much. once you're done spreading it even onto to you lawn, make sure you water your lawn thoroughly as the crabgrass preventer needs to penetrait into the soil to prevent germination so no crabgrass will be able to grow and take over your lawn. Follow the steps on the back of the back and your lawn will be crabgrass free!

Crabgrass Free Lawn
Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer does the job of leaving my lawn free of crabgrass. I really dislike it when my lawn looks really good and what seems like overnight crabgrass has taken hold of many areas in my lawn. To prevent this from happening I always use Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer. The trick to using this is that you have to put it down before germination happens to PREVENT it hence the name. Once you see the crabgrass in your lawn, I feel like it's too late to put anything down to prevent it from taking over your lawn and you have to do the old method of pulling by hand and making sure you get the roots too. Once you put it down (spread it) you need to water so it can do the job. I watch the weather and see when rain is coming as it will need a good watering. Why use my water when mother nature can do the job for free. just make sure it's NOT a down pour that it's going to get washed away. A steady rain is perfect BUT if weather conditions are not permitting, go ahead and set your sprinklers on and water away .I use a drop spreader and go back and forth overlapping slightly to make sure I don't miss any areas and let mother nature do her job the next day when it rains and your lawn and mine will be crabgrass free and no pulling crabgrass by the hands.

New Lawn Saver
Having moved into my new build home last year, my yard consisted mostly of weeds, crabgrass, and some fescue mixed in. The crabgrass and grassy weed preventer came in at the perfect time, as the number of weeds and crabgrass was cut down by 75%, while allowing new grass to come in and flourish. Truly a savior of my newly planted lawn.

Ive had great success usung Scotts Crabgrass and Weed Preventer. My yard has a lot of crabgrass and after aplication and some time i wss able to eliminate that unappealing crabgrass. I plan on buying more.

Gives your yard a easy perk up after winter
Gives your yard a good post winter perking up. I set my spreader and put this down after mowing. A day later we had some rain and i was amazed the next day how green my lawn looked. Its too early to tell if it will keep the crabgrass at bay, but it did help get rid of some early growing weeds.

Crabby beware
Applied right as delivered. Wanted to treat lawn as early as possible since weather has been warming earlier this year. Followed the directions and had a rain shortly after to wash it in. Hard to see the results on the crabgrass because it creates a barrier to prevent growth. So far no crabgrass in lawn.

Great product, buy if you want your lawn great!!!!
This is some great seed. I put in down in the early spring and my lawn is looking phenomenal. I have had 3 neighbors come over and tell me how much they like my grass and how thick and green it is. 10/10 all day long!!!

Scotts Halts Crabgrass is so easy to use and actually works wonders! I've used this product for years, therefore, is primarily used for maintenance now. Key is to apply before crabgrass actually appears.

I used this product back in March and it has always worked very well in my yard of Fescue and Bluegrass...Unfortunately where I live, not too many people treat their yards and I have to spread into their yards also to keep crabgrass in check...lol

Scott is killing the crabgrass
I received this product three days ago and applied to the affected areas yesterday and I didn’t believe but it working and destroying the crabgrass which impresses me because it is hard to kill off crabgrass. It rained the day I applied after a couple of hours passed. I’m very satisfied with this product and will continue to use .

A Must Have for a Beautiful Yard
Scott's Crabgrass with Halts is a must buy this year due to the winter weather in the midwest. This product has reduced the crabgrass in my yard. I woll find one or 2 every now and then due to my neighbor having a yard full and when he mows it send the seeds to my yard. I use it every year.

Great product
Great product, I followed the clear instructions on the bag for when to use and when to apply it to the lawn and in what conditions I.e. wet/dry season etc. I used a Scotts rotary spreader and it applied evenly and I had no issues.
