Precautions
- Don't use on newly seeded grass lawns until after the fourth mowing. On newly sprigged areas, wait five months before application.
- Don't plant grass seed for four growing months or sprig an area for five months after use of this product.
- Don't apply more frequently than twice a year. Allow at least a two month interval between applications.
- Don't rake or aerify after application, as the Halts(R) chemical barrier in the soil will be disturbed.

Nonrefillable container. If empty: Do not reuse or refill this container. Place in trash or offer for recycling if available. If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

Description
Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer prevents the germination of listed lawn weeds so you can enjoy your lawn. In early spring, apply when lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass* and oxalis all season long (*for goosegrass control, repeat application in 8 weeks). Apply in the fall (August-October) to prevent moss (except in California), or to prevent the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed. Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is for use on all lawns and grass types (with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass lawns). Rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect the performance of this product. Please note, this product controls crabgrass in its early stages of growth. Trust Scotts
Been using Halts for years and it's great controlling crabgrass every year. Looking forward to summer to see if this product controls the grassy weeds that it advertises. But its too soon to report the outcome yet.

My lawn was overrun by crabgrass last year and I may have applied a preventer too late, so this year I made sure to do it early. So far so good with this product. We will see if it keeps the crabgrass away for as long as it says.

Doing good
If you’re like me and you try very hard to care for your lawn but don’t have the time, money, or energy to either dole out thousands of dollars a year to a professional or buy 15 different products to apply to your lawn 15 plus times… this would be a product for you. It doesn’t weigh a ton, it’s relatively quick and easy to apply, and works very well.

Best crab grass killer ever.
Well it’s been raining for about a month. So it’s hard to get this out but I finally did and I’ve sprinkled it everywhere I m so glad I got this. I have crab grass going crazy with all this rain. But I’ve always used this and it works great it’s the best. Wouldn’t get or use anything else if you want something that works anyway.

Wonderful!
I continue getting Scotts products because I know they work. While my neighbors pay professionals tons of money and have great lawns, I achieve the same results by simply visiting my neighborhood hardware store or Scotts.com and follow the recommendations of the personalized lawn care plan. It could not be any easier!
For Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer, I apply in the early spring (as I live in Minnesota, spring time is never consistent), and it prevents the pesky crabgrass that creeps up. I also like to apply it in the fall to make things easier in the spring time. The nice thing about this is if I apply it too early or too late in the year, snow and freezing temperatures do not affect it.

a yearly treatment around here!
my husband is all about yards in the summer. he said this one works really fast and livens up your yard after the winter months. it works really well with a drop or broadcast spreader. definitely a difference in the color and thickness of our yard!

Love the crab grass scott miracle grow
I got this from scott miracle grow. It's great for your yard. If you don't have a lot of grass, it will cover up all the bare spots. I put it down ia couple days ago and it's already coming up i would definitely keep using it.

Goodbye Grassy Weeds!
Excellent product to put down early in the season. Using my Scotts spreader, settings are clearly called out on the bag as well as directions of when and how to apply. Spreads nice and evenly, no clumping. If you're looking to give more real estate to the grass you actually want growing in your yard, this is an excellent way to get there.

No crabgrass but a few small weeds that need work
Crabgrass actually was controlled pretty well but I'm still seeing some small weeds that keep popping up. I'm hoping that with another application that maybe it'll correct the problem but it's definitely worth trying.

Killed my crabgrass
This stuff has been working for me. I had a little bit of a crabgrass outbreak in my front lawn near the ditch. I sorinkle this down and noticed it started to die back and added a little more just in case and its gone now.

Crabgrass seed
This has helped kill my crabgrass. It is easy to use, and it takes care of the weeds. The instructions are easy to follow. It makes our grass look healthier with less weeds. It’s a decent sized bag, but you may need more depending on the size of your yard. I reduced the infestation at least 99%. Now I can count on my hand the number of POA that sprout every year, its very minimal. I think it does a great job if used on a regular basis and given time to work.

Works good
This crab grass and lawn food was very easy to spread. I was nervous this small bag wouldnt go far but it did. You do need to make sure it gets water every 2-3 days. So far we are very pleased with it.

Good coverage
Covered well over lawn. Used it in an area that always gets heavy crabgrass. Looking forward to seeing how this supplements the fertilizer with Triple Threat fertilizer. I have a little left that I may reapply I a few weeks.

Working great even when applied later than usual.
Great at keeping weeds from popping up in the spring. I applied this a little later than i would have liked, but it is still doing a great job and my lawn is coming back beautifully after the winter.

Apply pre-emergent...and get Crab Grass Out...
Apply it in Spring and crabgrass Is out...atleast for now..will check and update at the end of season. Spreading it was a breeze. Lets see if it there is any crabgrass resurgence later in the season. Read instructions on the bag properly.. timing or watering should be precise.

Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer
Finally was able to apply product has issues getting product spread using the Eltie Spreader as product contained pea sizes of foam which was preventing product from being spread. Had to remove the foam first before being able to spread. Once removed product went down as expected. So gar have not seen any weeds sprouting. One improvement that should be made is making the bag resealable as the bag amount allows for 2 application's which will be applied in the fall. Hopefully by next spring I can say bye bye Crabgrass.

Scotts works!!
Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Weed Preventer is my spring treatment to take care of the weeds in my lawn. . I highly recommend this product. Scotts helps reduce the amount of crabgrass. I've used this product for years and my yard is a beautiful shade of green and mostly weed free. .If you want a crabgrass free awn, then use Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer. Apply with your Scotts spreader. Dial the right number and water your lawn thoroughly. As always follow the steps on the back of the back and your lawn will be crabgrass free!

Early Application is a Must
Crabgrass Preventer is a solid dual-action product that feeds your lawn while stopping crabgrass before it starts. I applied it early in the season as directed, and so far, I’ve seen virtually no crabgrass emerging. The lawn looks greener and healthier overall, and the granules were easy to apply with a broadcast spreader. It’s convenient to have weed prevention and fertilization in one step, and it didn’t harm my established grass. Great choice for early spring lawn care.

Crabgrass prevention
The crabgrass weed preventer has been effective with no crabgrass evident in the area where I applied it. The area next to where I applied the crabgrass preventer has several plugs of crabgrass established. I would recommend using this product if you want to minimize any crabgrass in your lawn.

Crabgrass Be Gone!
Every year when the spring hits, crabgrass just takes over my entire front and side yard. Being in a corner lot, I want my yard to look great and full. That’s where this Scotts Halts Crabgrass comes into play. The moment I put it down, the crabgrass is stopped in it’s tracks.

Great product
This is an effective product that is super easy to use! Simply toss out on the area that you want to prevent and it's a done job. Comes packaged in tact and the product itself isn't too heavy to maneuver. I saw results within the week of spreading the product. I definitely recommend and will repurchase.

Prevents weeds very well
This product gives a full 5 months of weed suppression here in Arizona. I used to struggle with hundreds of Spurge weeds in my lawn but since I’ve been using this weed preventer it’s been decreased to less than 2% of what I was getting. The few weeds that I do get now are usually around the edges of the lawn where the soil is disturbed from digging in with my edger. I’ll continue to use this every spring and just spot spray or pull the few weeds that pop through the barrier.

Directions are easy to follow
Very easy to use and the directions are very clear. It is a pre-emergent weed killer. I know so it's more effective when you apply pre spring before the weeds start growing. It is okay to apply during freezing temperature so that you're ready for it to start working when spring. It also kills more weeds than just crabgrass.

Scotts is always my go to product to maintain my lawn. This product helps to eliminate crabgrass in the spring. Instructions are are clear on how to apply. And using a Scotts spreader makes the job get done quickly.
