Rated 2 out of 5 by from Formula Needs Updating Lifelong Floridian here. Bonus S used to be quite effective for weed control on St Augustine lawns, however as a result of the drier, warmer climate we've experienced over the last 5 - 10 years, the weed varieties are increasing and becoming more prolific. Bonus S simply can't handle them the way it used to. I know all the rules; apply between mowing's, using recommended spreader settings, thoroughly water it in, spot treat stubborn patches, reapply in 8 weeks if needed, etc. And still, the weeds persist. The environment is changing. Weed control agents need to change as well. The old stuff just doesn't do it anymore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought 3 large bags of Bonus S and 1 bag os MAX. I buy Scott Bonus S every year. It is good as a fertilizer, but I have never seen it kill dollar weeds or any other weeds. I spent $225 on this fertilizer, and got the usual results; will not kill weeds. I will be buying cheaper fertilizer that does not claim to kill weeds. Why do you keep advertising that it kills weeds?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't kill weeds anymore! I have been using Bonus S for 20 years in S FL and the product has always performed in the weed control category. I always apply extra of what is stated on the bag! This time it didn't even touch the hard weeds and DID NOT KILL THE DOLLAR WEEDS. Maybe because of cost, they reduced the Atrazine amount in the bag; either way I'm not spending this much money for a crappy product. Goodbye Scotts!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Grass is green and so are the dollar weeds! We are lifelong users of scotts products but the Scotts Bonus S Weed and Feed has not worked well for us this year. In fact, the dollar weeds are thriving better than when we put the material down. Extremely disappointed this time around.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bonus S not working on my lawn I bought Bonus S for southern lawns in Florida. I put it down about 3 weeks ago and my lawn on the side yard didn’t green up and I have a lot of dollar weed and other weeds growing now in my yard after putting this fertilizer down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short of Product Terrible products from Scott’s. Never cover the area they say. Your pre-emergence stinks. The crabgrass took over. Scott’s would not re-imburse product or refund.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product killed the grass. Bought this product on April 24 and applied to lawn following directions. Clover was eliminated in some areas but where it wasn’t it is thriving. The product was applied with a Scott’s rotary spreader. There are lines of dead grass across the lawn. I have photos of the damage but this site does not work well on an iPad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work-looking for an alternative I have used Weed and Feed for 20+ years. Not sure what has changed, but results were poor! Weed control was meager and fertilizer was marginal. Very disappointed-will have to look for an alternative.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save Your Money It Doesn't Work Rarely has a product failed so dismally to perform its most basic function. The weeds are thriving and choking out the grass. My landscaper warned me against Scott's but I figured an old line company can't be making useless products. Boy was I wrong. I have graphic pictures but this site wouldn't let me post them for you to see.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They call it weed & feed because it feeds the weed Put this down on September 6th and the weeda are thriving. For the price, should have gotten results. Cannot recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weed and feed just does not work anymore I used to purchase your weed ad feed products annually for my lawn but the weed just did not go away. Eventually, I cancelled my annual purchases and stop using the products. Your product just does not kill the weed anymore. However the turf builder is awesome. Your response to everyone is always the same. Per your answers on this forum.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy!! It fed the weeds and killed the grass. Not worth the money I spent. I will try something different, maybe Lesco.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bonus S left stripes of dead grass within days I used Bonus S at recommended spread rate and have stripes of dead and dying grass within days. I used a Scotts broadcast spreader at the recommended rate. I tried to contact Scotts for an explanation but have failed to get any human response.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scotts Turfbuilder Bonus S Southern Weed & Feed F2 Very disappointed; Product did nothing with weeds in front or back of my home located in South Florida, Boca Raton. A variety of weeds, including dollar weeds in rear are actually flourishing but in any event remain unaffected by the application. Called Scotts and was told will have to wait a while longer? As per plan, supposed to apply Southern Lawn Food 3/20. Is that product going to feed the weeds also? If so, no thanks. Will return the lawn food if Scott does not have a solution to this weed problem which was not handled by their weed & feed.
