This high-quality, uncoated grass seed mix is 99.9% weed free and starts to grow in as little as 6 to 14 days. It can be used to seed a new lawn or reseed an existing lawn. Apply Scotts® Heritage™ Grass Seed Tall Fescue Mix in the spring or fall when air temperatures are consistently between 65°F and 85°F. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product (please refer to spreader settings on product label). Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. One 7 lb. bag of Scotts® Heritage™ Grass Seed Tall Fescue Mix has a new lawn coverage of 1,165 sq. ft. and a reseeding coverage of 3,500 sq. ft.

How to Use

When Seeding a New Lawn

• Rake the area to loosen the top layer of soil (roughly 2" deep). Remove any dead grass or debris to ensure seed-to-soil contact.
• Apply using a Scotts® spreader - Set a Scotts® Hand-Held Spreader to 5. Go over the lawn 3x. Set a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader to 12. Set a Scotts® Drop Spreader to 13 1/2. Go over the lawn 3x. Set a Scotts® Wizz® Spreader to 6 1/2. Go over the lawn 2x. Set a Scotts® Elite Spreader to 11.
• One 7 lb. bag covers 1,165 sq. ft. for a new lawn. After applying, lightly rake the seed into the soil. Ensure it is covered just beneath the soil surface.
• Water daily, or as needed, to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 in. tall.

When Reseeding an Existing Lawn

• Mow the lawn at the lowest mower setting. Bag the clippings as you go.
