Description
Use the Scotts® Turf Builder® EdgeGuard® DLX Broadcast Spreader to apply fertilizer, grass seed, and other lawn care products. This lawn spreader comes pre-calibrated and ready-to-use, and holds up to 15,000 sq. ft. of Scotts® product. When EdgeGuard™ is engaged, it will block off the right-side of the spreader pattern to prevent product from spreading onto non-lawn areas. Using the Scotts® Turf Builder® EdgeGuard® DLX Broadcast Spreader is simple. To begin, turn rate control dial to the correct setting listed on the back of each Scotts® product, pour the product in the hopper, then start spreading. The spreader's design enhancements feature a curved hopper and dual-bladed agitator for smooth product funneling and consistent coverage. Spreaders provide uniform coverage of granular products; without one, you may end up with uneven coverage of fertilizer or control products that can result in uneven feeding, weed, disease, or insect control. Scotts® spreaders can also be used to distribute salt on walkways and driveways.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
- Fill the spreader over the driveway. Be sure and clean any product that spills.
- Turn the dial to the correct setting.
- Begin walking. Squeeze the trigger to release the product.
- Walk briskly (4 ft./s). Release the trigger when making turns.
- Make each pass 5 ft. from the previous path.
- To keep product off areas it is not wanted, slide lever to activate the EdgeGuard® Landscape Protection System.

Special Instructions
- Read and follow all "Directions for Use" on the label of the product that you are applying.
- EdgeGuard® blocks off the right side of the spreader pattern to prevent product from spreading onto areas it is not intended to go.

Has worked as promised/expected FOR 15 YEARS!
I have owned and operated this Deluxe Broadcast Spreader for at least 15 years and haven't had ONE problem until today in which the drive wheel axle input tab broke off. I have jockeyed this spreader up and down steps over rough uneven ground and about anything else you can imagine taking care of my lawn. I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED with this purchase. I can tell from the photos sent by unsatisfied users that ALMOST ALL of them haven't done the most basic maintenance that is required such as RINSING THE THING OFF AFTER USING IT. Remember you are most likely spreading caustic materials which, left sticking to the spreader, will over a SHORT PERIOD rust and degrade the spreaders performance. In the photos I see chemical skim, build up around the plastic rotor, unwashed wheels that judging from the looks have never been washed. In short most of your problems have been caused by YOU. TAKE CARE OF YOUR STUFF AND IT WILL ALMOST 100% OF THE TIME DO WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO!

Love this
I bought mine years ago, I can't remember when. It has only had issues after using it for salting in the winter. I quick cleanup in the spring and it was like new.
