Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good black stuff to enrich your native soil with. Have bought several hundred bags over the years, I have 1/2" box mesh screened a lot of them and only find a handful of material that is wood and small rock, not really a big deal to worry about. It adds organic material to existing native soil for more microbial soil health and fertiliy it is not dirt or one of the sand, silt, clay types of "soil" bit it works for what it's intended purpose is, to enrich marginal light colored dirt that has little organic content.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dark beautiful topsoil full of nutrients for my f I love this topsoil even compared to miracle grow garden soils or expert. This is making my job easier and flowers happier Now just finding more of it is my problem. Stores are saying online they have it in stock then saying they are out when you go there to get it. Tractor supply and Walmart did this to me yesterday.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product did what I needed it to do I had my lawn resodded with Zoysia grass after major renovations tore up the established centipede lawn that was there. I had a large tree with surface roots removed and a cement walkway down the middle of the front lawn. Even though my lawn was well graded, areas where the tree and walkway were sank from three to four inches. In places, it sank to about six inches, making it a risk to step into as well as making tge lawn look unkept. I used the Scott topsoil as a surface filler. I opened several bags over areas that I thought were too depressed and used a small plastic rake to work the soul between grass blades. Watering brought the loose soil down to root level. The outcome was exactly what I needed. The Zoysia likes to spread with runners. Unlike centipede that also spreads with runners, its roots are thicker and go deeper. It does not create open area like centipede where the chamber bitter weed would reseed and sprout. The end result was leveling of those areas that had previously sunken over the last year. I chose Scotts top soil because it was finer than other brand topsoils sold in stores and because it did not contain fertilizer additives. I also like the addition of peat moss because the soil in my area is very sandy. I would not use it where soils contained a lot of clay.
