Description
Get started on a lush, green lawn with the Scotts® Grass Seed and Fertilizer Bundle. Scotts® Grass Seed Drought Tolerant Mix combines Tall Fescue to grow long roots to access water deep in the soil, and Kentucky Bluegrass, which uses rhizomes to spread naturally to fill in bare spots. Follow-up your seed application with Scotts® Turf Builder® Triple Action Built for Seeding. This weed and feed is designed for new grass and can be applied immediately after seeding. In addition, it prevents crabgrass, dandelion, clover, ground ivy, chickweed, henbit, and nutsedge. To apply, first prep your lawn for seeding or overseeding as needed. Fill your Scotts® spreader with grass seed and set the dial to the recommended setting. After application, rake to ensure the seed is lightly covered with soil. Last, use your spreader to apply weed and feed (remember to change your spreader settings per label directions). One 4 lb. bag of Scotts® Grass Seed Drought Tolerant Mix has a new lawn coverage of 665 sq. ft. and an overseeding coverage of 2,000 sq. ft. How to Use
To Apply Grass Seed:
- PREP: For a new lawn, rake area to loosen the top layer of soil (approximately 2 inches deep) and remove any dead grass or debris, ensuring seed-to-soil contact. To overseed, mow the lawn at the lowest setting and bag the clippings. Rake to remove debris, dead grass, and loosen the soil, ensuring seed-to-soil contact.
- APPLY: Use a Scotts® Spreader to apply seed at the recommended spreader setting. New Lawn: Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader: 13; Scotts® Elite Spreader: 10; Scotts® Drop Spreader: 15 (Go over lawn 3X); Scotts® Wizz® Spreader: 6 1/2 (Go over lawn 2X); Scotts® Hand-held Spreader: 5 (Go over lawn 5X). Overseeding: Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader: 5 1/2; Scotts® Elite Spreader: 7; Scotts® Drop Spreader: 15; Scotts® Wizz® Spreader: 5 1/2; Scotts® Hand-held Spreader: 4 (Go over lawn 3X)
- RAKE: Lightly rake the seed into the soil to ensure seed is covered just beneath the soil surface.
Follow your grass seed application with an application of Scotts® Turf Builder® Triple Action Built for Seeding:
- Fill and set your spreader: Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader: 4 1/2; Scotts® Drop Spreader: 7; Scotts® Wizz® Spreader: 4 3/4
- Walk at a steady pace.
- Lightly water lawn to activate.
WHEN AND WHERE TO USE
Where Not to Use
- Do not apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Triple Action Built for Seeding in a way that will contact any person or pet either directly or through drift. Do not apply another pesticide within seven days of an application of this product as turf injury may occur.
When to Apply
- For best results, apply grass seed in the Spring or Fall when daily average soil temperature are consistently between 60°F and 75°F, or air temperatures are between 65°F and 85°F.

Watering Tips
- Water grass seed daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist.
- Continue this frequent watering pattern for at least 3 weeks or until seedlings reach 2 inches in height.

We used this to reseed an area of our grass that used to be a garden bed. We did not water nearly as much as we should and the grass still sprouted nicely!

Scott's grass...
This Scott's grass seed works well. I needed to fill in some spots, and it worked so well. It is drought resistant, too...it covers we rs a lot of area with just one bag...I will be using this Scott's grass seed when in need for beautiful green grass..

Works miracles!!
I originally had no grass in a section of my front yard and you very much tell where I put the sees vs didn't. Instructions were very easy and I am very impressed with the results after only a few weeks and one bag. I will definitely be getting more!!

After trying several grass seed options over the years to combat the dry, patchy lawn issues caused by scorching summers and water restrictions, I finally used Scotts Grass Seed Drought Tolerant Mix and was genuinely impressed by how quickly it germinated (within just over a week), how well it resisted heat and dryness without daily watering, how lush and thick the new growth looked after a few weeks, and how seamlessly it blended with my existing lawn though I did find it a bit pricey and had to cover it lightly with straw to keep birds away, overall, it has proven to be a reliable and effective solution for maintaining a green, resilient lawn in challenging weather conditions.

Works well, spreads well and bag is resealable
The bag itself is light weight and resealable, which is perfect since I have spuratic bald spots in my yard so didn’t need to use the whole bag at once. It is easy to spread. I like that it doesn’t need constant watering as I forget to water things sometimes. It seems to be growing well in the areas i used it in. My yard has alot of areas where there is more weeds than grass. So now that I know this works I will likely start digging up the yard to use this instead of green coverage from weeds.

Great coverage
This is a huge bag of grass seed! I planted some seeds and have had great growth. I planted in specific areas in my yard. Covers up to 5000 square feet - great value! I don’t notice a specific scent to the seeds. I would use this product again.
