Description
Get started on a lush, green lawn with the Scotts® Grass Seed and Fertilizer Bundle. Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Southern Gold® Mix for Tall Fescue Lawns features root-building nutrition, a combination of ingredients that is expertly crafted to establish deep roots to grow thick, green turf. Follow-up your seed application with Scotts® Turf Builder® Triple Action Built for Seeding. This weed and feed is designed for new grass and can be applied immediately after seeding. In addition, it prevents crabgrass, dandelion, clover, ground ivy, chickweed, henbit, and nutsedge. To apply, first prep your lawn for seeding or overseeding as needed. Fill your Scotts® spreader with grass seed and set the dial to the recommended setting. After application, rake to ensure the seed is lightly covered with soil. Last, use your spreader to apply weed and feed (remember to change your spreader settings per label directions). How to Use
To Apply Grass Seed:
- PREP: For a new lawn, rake area to loosen the top layer of soil (approximately 2 inches deep) and remove any dead grass or debris, ensuring seed-to-soil contact. To overseed, mow the lawn at the lowest setting and bag the clippings. Rake to remove debris, dead grass, and loosen the soil, ensuring seed-to-soil contact.
- APPLY: Use a Scotts® Spreader to apply seed at the recommended spreader setting.
- New Lawn: Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader: 9 1/2 (Go over lawn 2X); Scotts® Elite Spreader: 11 1/2; Scotts® Drop Spreader: 18 (Go over lawn 5X); Scotts® Wizz® Spreader: 6 (Go over lawn 3X); Scotts® Hand-held Spreader: 5 (Go over lawn 5X)
- Overseeding: Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader: 8; Scotts® Elite Spreader: 7; Scotts® Drop Spreader: 17 1/2 (Go over lawn 2X); Scotts® Wizz® Spreader: 6; Scotts® Hand-held Spreader: 5 (Go over lawn 2X)
- RAKE: Lightly rake the seed into the soil to ensure seed is covered just beneath the soil surface.
Follow your grass seed application with an application of Scotts® Turf Builder® Triple Action Built for Seeding:
- Fill and set your spreader: Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader: 4 1/2; Scotts® Drop Spreader: 7; Scotts® Wizz® Spreader: 4 3/4
- Walk at a steady pace.

Loving our lawn!
My husband loves to have a nice looking lawn but has been use to northern grasses and upkeep. We had a lot of bare spots and nasty old Bermuda in patches. I finally convinced him to try cutting it longer and use Scotts Turf builder for seeding with Scotts fescue for our Tennessee area. The lawn has never looked so good. We still have some spots that need some TLC but most of it has filled in and very little old Bermuda is present. It is thicker than it has been in the 11 years we have lived here. Thank you Scotts!!

It Works!
This Scott’s turf builder is very effective! I used it on patches in my yard that had densely grown grass other parts of my lawn. The grass grew thicker and vibrant! The application is not difficult at all, whether using a feeder or by hand. I love how it’s a three and one formula, the seedlings, fertilizer, and the soil improver. I will continue to use this product and look forward to having beautiful thick, healthy grass throughout the year.

So surprisingly awesome! Great outcome
This stuff is tremendously awesome!! We’ve had so many spots where the grass was either completely gone or was barely anything there. We used it on the entire grass and it made such a difference! The empty spots are no longer there. The grass looks so much better that I was so surprised because I wasn’t sure what to expect. This stuff has become my boyfriend’s favorite grass product to use for our lawn to look much better.

Great product!
This fertilizer has worked really well for us. We put the builder down by hand and watered the ground, the grass is growing well, and you can see the growth between the 2 photos that happened within 14 days. Overall, we like the product and plan on using it in other spots that we have in our lawn.
