In fall, it's time to feed your lawn with Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food. This fall fertilizer builds strong, deep grass roots for a better lawn next spring, delivering the nutrients needed to help recover from damage caused by summer heat, drought, and activity. Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food is for use on any grass type.

How to Use

• Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 using a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader set to 3 3/4, Scotts® Drop Spreader set to 7 1/4, Scotts® Wizz® Spreader set to 4 1/4, or Scotts® Elite Spreader set to 4 1/4. Mow tall grass or a day or two before application. Make sure grass is wet from dew or watering as this helps particles adhere to weed leaves to produce best results. Do not mow or water the lawn for at least 24 hours after application.
• Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® SummerGuard® Lawn Food with Insect Control during summer months to dry grass. Use a Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreader set to 3 ¾, Scotts® drop spreader set to 8 ½ or a Scotts® Elite spreader set to 5. Water the product in following application.
• Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food using a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader set to 2 3/4 or Scotts Drop Spreader set to 6. For an even application, walk at a steady pace slightly overlapping each pass. For fast results, lightly water in. Product does not need to be watered in.

Where Not to Use

• Do not use Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 on creeping bentgrass, St. Augustine (including Floratam), dichondra, carpetgrass, or lippia lawns.
• Do no use or allow granules to drift onto flowers, shrubs, fruit, or vegetable plants. Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours. Do not apply to new grass until is has been mowed at least 4 times. Do not allow product to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters, or surface waters. Sweep any product that lands onto sidewalks, driveways, or streets back onto the lawn to prevent run-off.

Where to Use

• Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 may be used on bahiagrass, bermudagrass, bluegrass, centipedegrass, fescue, ryegrass, or zoysiagrass lawns.

When to Apply

• Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 when weeds are actively growing and temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 90°F. In Spring, apply on bahiagrass and centipedegrass lawns in mid-April or later and after the third mowing. In Fall, apply on centipedegrass lawns before September 1 and bahiagrass before November 1st.
• Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® SummerGuard® Lawn Food with Insect Control in Summer (June - August).

How Often to Apply

• We recommend making a total of four annual feedings to your lawn. Check with your county and city governments to determine if there are local regulations for fertilizer use.
• Do not apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 more than twice per year.
• Avoid using any other weed or lawn insect control products for at least a week after applying Scotts® Turf Builder® SummerGuard® Lawn Food with Insect Control.

• Scotts® Turf Builder® SummerGuard® Lawn Food with Insect Control controls ants (black turf, carpenter, red harvester, odorous, pyramid, argentine and pharaoh (sugar)), Armyworms (including Fall Armyworms), Billbugs (including Bluegrass Billbugs), Black Turfgrass Ataenius, Chiggers, Chinch Bugs, Crickets, Cutworms (including Black Cutworms), Earwigs, European Crane Fly, Fleas (including Cat Fleas), Grasshoppers, Leafhoppers, Mealybugs, Mole Crickets (Including Tawny Mole Crickets), Sod Webworms (lawn moth) Spiders (including Brown Recluse Spiders), Ticks (including ticks that may transmit Lyme Disease), and Weevils (including Annual Bluegrass Weevils).
