How to Use

Bundle Includes:

• 13.35 lb. Scotts® Turf Builder® Halts® Crabgrass Preventer - covers 5,000 sq. ft. Apply using a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader set to 3 or Scotts® Drop Spreader set to 6. For an even application, walk at a steady pace slightly overlapping each pass. The lawn should receive 1/4-1/2 inch of water from rainfall or watering within 2-3 days after application.
• 11.32 lb. Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 - covers 4,000 sq. ft. Apply using a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader set to 3 3/4, Scotts® Drop Spreader set to 7 1/4, Scotts® Wizz® Spreader set to 4 1/4, or Scotts® Elite Spreader set to 4 1/4. Mow tall grass or a day or two before application. Make sure grass is wet from dew or watering as this helps particles adhere to weed leaves to produce best results. Do not mow or water the lawn for at least 24 hours after application.
• 13.35 lb. Scotts® Turf Builder® SummerGuard® Lawn Food - covers 5,000 sq. ft. Apply during summer months to dry grass. Use a Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreader set to 3 3/4 or Scotts® drop spreader set to 8 1/2. Water the product in following application.
• 10.0 lb. Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food - covers 4,000 sq. ft. Apply using a Scotts® Broadcast/Rotary Spreader set to 2 3/4 or Scotts Drop Spreader set to 6. For an even application, walk at a steady pace slightly overlapping each pass. For fast results, lightly water in; however, product does not need to be watered in.

Where Not to Use

• Do not use Scotts® Turf Builder® Halts® Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food on dichondra or bentgrass lawns. Do not seed or sod for 4 months after application. Do not apply to newly seeded or sodded areas until after the 4th mowing. On newly sprigged areas, wait 5 months before application.
• Do not use Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 on creeping bentgrass, St. Augustine (including Floratam), dichondra, carpetgrass, or lippia lawns. Do no use or allow granules to drift onto flowers, shrubs, fruit, or vegetable plants. Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours. Do not apply to new grass until is has been mowed at least 4 times. Do not allow product to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters, or surface waters. Sweep any product that lands onto sidewalks, driveways, or streets back onto the lawn to prevent run-off.

Where to Use

• Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 may be used on bahiagrass, bermudagrass, bluegrass, centipedegrass, fescue, ryegrass, or zoysiagrass lawns.

When to Apply

• Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Halts® Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food in the early spring, before the 3rd or 4th mowing. Apply when temperatures are regularly in the 80s.
• Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 when weeds are actively growing and temperatures are consistently between 60°F and 90°F. In Spring, apply on bahiagrass and centipedegrass lawns in mid-April or later and after the third mowing. In Fall, apply on centipedegrass lawns before September 1 and bahiagrass before November 1st.
• Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® SummerGuard® Lawn Food with Insect Control in Summer (June - August) when insect activity or damage is first observed.

How Often to Apply

• We recommend making a total of four annual feedings to your lawn. Check with your county and city governments to determine if there are local regulations for fertilizer use.
• Do not apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Halts® Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food more than twice per year.
• Do not apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed5 more than twice per year.
• Do not use any other weed, disease, or insect control products for at least one week after applying Scotts® Turf Builder® SummerGuard® Lawn Food with Insect Control.

It may seem like a lot of steps at first, but once you've got it down, avoiding common lawn mistakes isn't too hard. Mow at the right height, kill weeds when they pop up, water less frequently but more deeply to encourage root growth, and don't over or under feed your lawn (hint: this lawn program bundle can help you avoid that).

We recommend making 4 fertilizer applications per year. While it's tempting to fertilize once or twice (or not at all) and call it good, those four feedings not only keep your lawn looking green and lush on the surface, but help strengthen it below the surface. Fertilizing four times per year also gives you the opportunity to address seasonal concerns, such as combating weeds in spring before they emerge and combatting stressors during summer.
