The Heat Lock™ Technology Coating keeps hands and paws protected from the calcium chloride core during application while the non-staining formula reduces the potential for damage to your drive and walkways. Apply before, or soon after, the snow starts to fall for the best results, but Scotts® Ice Melt can penetrate ice, even at -25 degrees F. Scotts® Ice Melt is tough on ice, but easy on everything else.

Hot product!
This jug of ice melt was amazing as the last spring storm left my drive way as slick as an Olympic ice rink! The ease of the shaker jug combined with the quality ice melt product has made this my go-to jug for the winter! Wisconsin winters are unpredictable and usually leave me sliding all over! This product began to work on contact and kept the drive ice free until it was able to dry.

Better than salt
Even with the mild winter here in Wisconsin, I had a chance to test and compare this product alongside the normal hardware store salt products. It melts the ice as good as salt but, what's really nice is this product will always dissolve completely, never leaving a white stained residue, chunks of undissolved salt and dust, which always tracks into the house. I found the spreader cap also very helpful.

Convenient and Works Great!
This Scott's Ice Melt in the container is so convenient and easy to use. It worked like a charm on the ice we recently had. It was very effective on the very slippery driveway and sidewalks. We could barely even walk on them without slipping but this started to work immediately without using a ton of product. It also worked out good for our dog.

This product really melts ice on the sidewalk and driveway
I used this product on my sidewalk and driveway and on the tire tracks that were on the driveway. The snow melted away very quickly and the ice tire tracks melted away too. Very easy to apply on my driveway and sidewalk. Unscrew the cap and start to shake the container as I walked around my driveway. I did not have to put on gloves like I had to do with another product I had used which came in a 25 pound bag. I will buy this product again because it is so convenient to use and so readily available.

Scotts Ice Melt does the job!
We've had good results with Scotts Ice Melt. The product works really fast on sidewalk ice and the encapsulated pellets provide a little extra traction as you walk on it as the product is going to work on icy surfaces. Fine results all around, Scotts. Thanks for the opportunity to try it!

Use alot less for the job
I was completely impressed with the speed in which the product worked, plus the fact I found I could a lot less to get the job done ! Also the container itself is very comfortable to use. Sold me !
