How to Use

1. Get Ready. New lawn: Rake area to loosen the top layer of soil (approximately 2 inches deep) and remove any dead grass or debris, ensuring seed-to-soil contact. Overseeding: Before seeding, mow at the lowest setting and bag the clippings. Rake to remove debris, dead grass and to loosen the soil, ensuring seed-to-soil contact.
2. Apply. Pour the product into your Scotts® spreader and set the dial to the appropriate setting. For even application, walk at a steady pace slightly overlapping each pass. 3. Rake. Lightly rake the seed into the soil to ensure the seed is slightly covered by the soil.
4. Water. Lightly water the seeded area so the soil surface is moist. Continue to water daily for at least 3 weeks (set a reminder in your phone so you don't forget!), or until your new grass reaches 2 inches in height.

We crafted this grass seed with hand-selected varieties of Tall Fescue seed grown in Oregon and paired it with soil-improving clay. This grass seed also contains Natural Grass Food with feather meal and blood meal to feed grass, potassium sulfate to feed grass and strengthen roots, molasses to feed soil microbes, and flour meal to feed grass and improve soil.

Fall is the best time to plant cool-season grasses like Tall Fescue (though seeding in spring is an option). The combination of warm soil and cool air provides ideal conditions for cool-season grasses to develop strong roots before winter sets in.
